The unit is administratively attached to the INRAE Bretagne Normandie Centre and scientifically to the INRAE Animal Genetics (GA) department.

In the heart of the Norman bocage, in the "département" of Orne, the estate is organised around a dairy centre spread over two sites 2 km apart (with a herd of 500 head, including 250 cows at the milking stage) on a total of 340 hectares, including 300 hectares of grassland.
