To ensure that calve is no longer considered as a by-product of dairy farming, a new study is being carried out, in parallel with the Tripl'Xl experimental protocol, on the grass valorisation of Angus cross-bred animals from dairy systems. This type of animal is now sought after in order to produce a meat that better meets consumers’ expectations: light animals, therefore smaller pieces of meat, grass-rearing that respects animal welfare and is therefore more environmentally friendly.

The objectives of this experiment are varied :

  • Encourage the maintenance and enhancement of permanent grasslands sometimes far from farms
  • Characterize the best technical ways in the herbicide system, with a view to slaughter at 24 or 28 months
  • Study the technological and organoleptic characteristics of meat obtained

But what is it in practice ?
